1. Dengue NS1 Antigen Test
Purpose: Detects early dengue infection
What it detects: NS1 protein of dengue virus
Best time: Day 1–5 of fever
Result meaning:
Positive: Active dengue infection
Negative: Dengue less likely (may need antibody test)
Use: Early diagnosis before antibodies appear
2. Dengue NS1 / IgM / IgG (Dengue Profile)
This is a combined dengue test.
a) NS1 Antigen
Detects early infection (Day 1–5)
b) Dengue IgM Antibody
Appears after Day 4–5
Indicates recent dengue infection
c) Dengue IgG Antibody
Appears after Day 7
Indicates past infection or secondary dengue
Interpretation examples:
NS1 positive → Early dengue
IgM positive → Recent dengue
IgG positive → Past or secondary dengue
IgM + IgG positive → Ongoing or repeat infection
3. Malaria Test (Peripheral Smear / Rapid Antigen Test)
Purpose: Detects malaria infection
What it detects: Malaria parasite or antigens (Pf / Pv)
Symptoms: Fever with chills, sweating, headache
Result meaning:
Positive: Malaria confirmed
Negative: Malaria unlikely (may repeat if fever persists)
4. Typhidot Test (Typhoid Test)
Purpose: Detects typhoid fever
What it detects: IgM and IgG antibodies against Salmonella typhi
Best time: After 5–7 days of fever
Result meaning:
IgM positive: Recent typhoid infection
IgG positive: Past infection or exposure
Note: Sometimes false positives; blood culture is gold standard
